Who is E.M. Moon?
I don't like to talk about myself in the third person, so I am going to make this rather informal.
I'm E.M. Moon, author of the 667: Children of the Beast, an urban/epic/contemporary fantasy series, Faytes of the Otherworld, and the S.A.I.N.T.S. Series (paranormal steampunk novels). I have been writing since about the age of twelve when I first discovered a little program called "Microsoft Writer" and typed up my first story about a possessed Dolly that wreaks havoc on a preteen and her friends. Since then I have started and stopped many a story, penning whatever inspires me at the moment, but losing sight of an ending. Up until that point, writing had been merely a hobby for me, but I wanted it to turn in to so much more. I began really putting my heart in to my writing in my High School years and even had some of my teachers fight to put me in to AP English to expand my learning, but to no avail. I pressed on and continued to write my stories and poetry despite that (even if it did get me in trouble during class). I wrote well in to my 20's, still having a hard time finishing what I started. I ventured out with short stories and fanfiction, and soon found myself completing my first book: a "Supernatural" fanfic. Even though it wasn't my work, it showed me that I could complete a story and that I had been too hard on myself in the past. I went on to finish another fanfic before finally completing my first full length novel in The S.A.I.N.T.S. Series: The Captain and the Alchemist. This little victory pushed me even further, and now the words are just pouring from my fingers at a rather alarming rate. (The creativity has been sparked!) I currently am a stay at home mom to a beautiful, scarily intelligent and creative, 11 year old Themlin. I have a wonderful partner who is not only my best friend, but my creative think-tank and my number one supporter in my writing (and the process) and pushes me to do better and never give up. I am also a practicing Pagan/Witch, and run my own witchy-geek business called InkDrinker Apothecary and I have a podcast called the Occult Archives. |
